The 18th Century Swedish Broad Ax was the inspiration for the Gransfors Bruks Broad Ax 1700. It's just a beast!

- The thickness of the head where it begins to bevel is a full 5/8 inch (1 mm), and the head weighs about 4 pounds (1.8 kg).
- Cutting edge is 10 inches (25 cm),
- Overall weight is about 5 pounds (2.3 kg). The handle is 20 inches (51 cm) long.
- The socket is an unusual,but very secure.
- Designed as a woodworking tool but is also a great Butcher's Axe
- Plenty of room to grasp the head of the Axe while working
- Double ground bevel starts from such unusual thickness ensures that your hands will be well away from the working material
- Huge socket is essentially a built-in collar guard, and was an 18th Century style
